Color and small shape changes
Whitening can alter the shade of natural teeth, while bonding can be used for selected chips or shape concerns. Existing fillings, veneers and crowns do not bleach like enamel, so they may influence the sequence of care.
Ask about sensitivity, the maintenance of the result and whether a small correction would address your concern. Treatment choice should fit the condition of the tooth rather than a particular trend.
Veneers, crowns and alignment
Veneers cover the front surface of selected teeth. Crowns provide broader coverage and may be used when more protection is needed. Both require careful assessment, and preparation may permanently change the tooth.
Orthodontic treatment changes tooth position and bite. Ask whether alignment should be considered before changing the shape of teeth. Not every concern can be addressed by every option.
Compare long-term care as well as appearance
Discuss the amount of preparation, expected visits, temporary restorations, cleaning needs and future repair or replacement. Ask about clenching or grinding and how your bite affects the plan.
Bring examples of what you like, but focus the conversation on achievable changes in your own mouth. A written plan and estimate can help you decide at a comfortable pace. Continue routine preventive care before, during and after cosmetic treatment.
